Drunkard's Path - Archive of a Social Movement

If you have read my posts from the last few weeks, you are likely as surprised as I am about the interesting connections a quilt has to moments in history. This week I learned so much about the use of quilting as a way to voice political views or support a cause.

Can you believe this beauty of a quilt? This week's quilt taught me so much about the possibilities of the quilt as a record, and of the invisible threads that weave through a quilt pattern and back through time to moments in history.

Prairie Point - An Archive of a Feeling

After the exciting cultural and historical connections made through investigations on my previous quilts, this fun orange quilt seems a little 'light' in historical significance. I was expecting big things from this quilt because the details of the binding, patterns and colours are so exciting.
