Great Job Kristen! I can really relate to your Grandmothers frugalness lol.. My Mom likes to knit too and one thing she did was knit a dress for a Barbie. She would leave this Barbie on the back tank of the toilet. Why you might ask? Barbie's legs went into the toilet paper roll and the dress covered the outside of the toilet paper. It was a hidden roll for emergencies lol. It is still there, and I hate it, but it is one on those things lost on the later generations. Another thing I think you might find interesting is a group in Ottawa called Victoria Quilts https://www.victoriasquiltscanada.com/ They provide quilts free to people who are suffering from cancer. We used them when my mother in law was sick and have continued to use them if someone we know is going through something similar. She passed away in 2016, but that quilt will stay with us forever.
